Now you can see the angel in my garden!

Wow!  Has it really been this long since I've posted?  I guess so, seeing as when I opened it up this afternoon to write this post, things have really changed in Blogger.  It took me a few clicks to figure out how to actually write a new post.  I guess I'm going to have to take the time to look around and see what alllllll the changes are.  Hmm......maybe tomorrow!

Hubby is working from home today and tomorrow.  He loves it!  While I don't despise it, I don't relish it either.  It kind of cramps my style as his schedule significantly impacts my schedule.  He is constantly on the phone with someone, so I have to maintain a certain level of quiet.  Once in a while I enjoy this because it "forces" me to retreat either outdoors or into my sewing room.  Such terrible options!  We are supposed to have record high temperatures today, so I'm retreating into my sewing room at any moment now.  He looks really stressed out doesn't he??

Last night we finally finished the firepit pad.  We really like it!  (I'm glad, because it was a lot of work for both of us.)  The pit has a grate that swings over to cook on if we ever want to do that.  We can take it off too, but I'm thinking it might be fun to cook hotdogs on - or some other "interesting" idea I might come up with.  (I am my mother's daughter!)  Thanks Jean and Bill for the bricks.  We're going to enjoy them!!

I used the few left over bricks to make a place for stacking wood.

We saved a few pieces of the tree stump for the grandkids to use as chairs.  I can see them toasting marshmallows already!

The flowerbeds are finally all cleaned out now, so all there is left is the upkeep.  My daddy taught me that if I will just go out a few mornings a week and pull a few weeds and do some dead heading, that I can keep them up pretty easily. (That is until we go on vacation!)  It looks as if it's shaping up to be another scorching summer, so I'm thinking that I'm going to have to pull myself out of bed a little early on those weed pulling days.

I'm off to my sewing room now.
