The View

As I sit at my computer, I often pause to enjoy the view out the windows.  (Thus the name of my blog!) My desk is situated where I can see as much my world as I can. Occasionally I will see a friend walking her dog, which prompts me to run outside and catch up on her life since I have last seen her.  I can see the sun rise over the trees. (Yes,  I do occasionally get up early enough to see it - it usually depends on what time of the year it is.  Daylight Savings Time changes things!)  Some days I get a surprise!  Yesterday was a surprise day.

I frequently see snowy egrets, but they are usually lone souls and down by the creek.  The creek is dry at present due to the extended HOT summer so I suppose that is why they have ventured up further in search of food.  As you can see, there were a lot of them.  This picture shows only a small portion as my camera couldn't possibly capture them all, and they were moving fast!  I wanted to at least capture part of the event before they were completely gone in flight.  It was such a beautiful event.

They came to land in the green belt, so I was able to take better pictures while they were grazing.  Evidently they enjoyed the weeds much more than we do.  It looked to me that there were several younger birds in the flock.
