Lazy Day!

Yesterday was a particularly dreary, rainy day so I decided I needed a day off.  I've been super busy as of late, but yesterday I read, munched, and went through some papers.  I rarely spend such a relaxed day.  I enjoyed it! I have accumulated a rather large reading library on my Kindle, and I really need to spend more time reading!  It seems that I spend more time reading in the wee hours of the morning when I can't sleep than at any other time.  Yesterday was so gray that my body just didn't seem to realize it was actually...well....Day!  After such a long time without rain we got somewhere around 4".  What a blessing!  I wondered if we needed to invest in a inflatable dinghy though.  The creek overflowed just a tad!  (It's usually confined to between the two tree lines. Or dry, for that matter.)

I'm not sure why the vacuum is there, but I can't retake the picture now!
One of the things I've been working on is a re-do of the guest room.  Our newest member of the family will be arriving in May, so of course that means that Nana and Grandpa needed a little room restructuring.  We were trying to figure out just how to get the crib into the room.  We did it a few years ago for our grand-daughter, but we just couldn't squeeze it in this time.  After much contemplation and head scratching, it occurred to us  that we have a different treadmill - one that is bigger.  Of course, MY suggestion would be to toss the thing out...completely....but we actually use it so that wouldn't do.  We had already purchased a new crib with the suggestion that the one we already owned had probably had a recall - years ago - and might not be "safe".  How did we all live past our childhoods without the CPA and EPA and a myriad of other organizations sporting acronyms?

And.....if we are going to moving furniture around, I might as well repaint.  Then we needed a wall decor update. The curtains needed a little sprucing up. (Thankfully I sew!) Then....oops!....while moving the bed, the wood split on the headboard.  The headboard held up the frame of the bed so........ Yep!  new frame and headboard.  Why is it that a simple project ALWAYS turns into something more invasive  expensive!  It was actually a blessing, because getting rid of the big clumsy bed gave us almost a foot more of floor space.  Just what we needed! I even cleaned out the closet and painted it too.  Except for a few finishing touches it's done. Whew!  Having a baby is hard work.

Gratitude for:
- The bad news of the bedposts splintering.
- My mother taught me how to sew.
- Filled up lakes and overflowing creeks.
