Once again it has been soooo long since I've posted anything. I've been a slump, and quite honestly, I needed a break. This fall has proved to be rather difficult in our little corner of the world, and I just haven't felt up to blogging. I haven't even done much sewing! Oh....Gasp...that's definitely not a good sign!! I have been thinking a lot about it though. (I guess planning and plotting would be better terminology.) This applies to both my blogging and my sewing.
I investigated moving my blog to another host, but have decided against it. I thought about giving it up altogether, but I decided I really didn't want to do that either. A few reminders from those of you who actually enjoy my meandering mind made me realize that I need this outlet, and that there are a few people out there in cyber land who I can either make laugh, think a little outside the box, or just plain shake their heads and utter an audible sigh. Shall I say...I'm baaaaaaack!?!? I need to get back to normalcy -whatever that is!
As for sewing?? Well, I have approximately 8 projects backed up on my sewing table, and a few mending items that are slung over my sewing chair. Does that tell you anything? I guess I'd better get at them. Two of those projects on the table are hand sewing exclusively, and one of those are the tree ornaments for 2012. I need about, oh....shall we say, 20 of them. I have exactly 1 done! I'd better get to sewing soon.
Hubby and I have made a pact that all electronics are shut off at 9:00pm. As most of you know, we do dueling computers in our bed in the evenings quite a bit. We have decided that we really needed to have some time reserved for just each other at the end of the day. We both have busy lives, and seriously...we don't need to have so many people occupying the space in our bed. It gets a little crowded in there! It doesn't always happen exactly when the clock chimes 9, but we mostly live on "ish" time around here anyway. At least it's close.
We are both working at simplifying our lives and our environment. One of us is better at making that happen than the other. I will let you guess which one of us that is. Really..... it depends which day it is! At any rate, we (I) am moving forward now and I'm not even going to look back over my shoulder. Fall is here and I'm going to enjoy that Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte while I can! Yummmm.... And, maybe a good book while I'm at it. I have read the newest John Grisham book, The Racketeer, among a few others. It was a fast read and enjoyable. Right now, I have 3 books I'm reading. (I always read more than one at time.) I'm just about to finish Homosexuality and Christian Faith for our book club meeting this week. I have enjoyed it more than I expected to. The discussion should be very interesting and lively! I'm also reading How to Stop the Pain - a book that a dear friend thinks everyone should read, and pressed into my hand a couple of weeks ago. Then for pleasure, Dead Reckoning, by Ronie Kendig. It was a free kindle download that I chose at random. It's a mystery, and I'm having a hard time putting it down. What are you reading?
Gratitude for:
- Time for healing. I think how blessed we are that medical science and technology has advanced, and keeps on advancing.
- Electricity, food on the table, a warm, comfortable place to sleep. So many things we take for granted until we don't have them at our ready disposal.
- Friends and family to support us when we don't have the energy to support ourselves.
