In the country, down a shaded lane is a beautiful wedding - I can't say chapel, because it's very large - plantation? Yes, I think it might fall into that category. I spent the morning there with a friend and her beautiful soon-to-be bride daughter. I have the honor of providing what I guess is best described as creative consultant. Anyone who knows me, knows that I can take a length of ribbon and think of 101 uses for it without much thought. It's my gift. Not to worry! I can come fairly close to what I think this bride's tastes might run, and just give her 3-5 ideas that can she and I can tweek together to get the look she wants. Fortunately for all of us she has taken the time to really think about it ahead of time, knows what she wants, and is ready to make a decision. That's good because the wedding is less than a month away! After lunch, we headed for the florist. The first person we approached there was a I'm-ready-to-get-out-of-here, I-don't-want-to-help-you young lady. We gave each other the "Are you sure we should order the flowers here?" look. After some browsing on our own, and the young clerk collecting her things and leaving, we were able to procure a pleasant and knowledgeable woman. I'm not going to let out any secrets, but it is going to be stunning and unique (in a most wonderful way!) These guests are going count this night as a memorable one. I'm happy to say that I will be among them. I can't wait to see what is in my minds eye come together in reality! It was a wonderful day filled with laughter and dreams.
and then.....Next door to the florist is a furrier. They have the most unique and intregueing window display. I only mention this because one of my sewing groups just finished a red, white, and blue purse challenge. (More on that on a later post.) I want you to try to imagine this. I'd ask you to close your eyes, but it's really hard to read that way! I really should have taken pictures. I had my camera with me. Darn!! Small purses.....some vests too...Elton John would really love the place! Leather dyed bright blue....the rough side out. I didn't look inside to see if they were lined. If I remember correctly, we were told that the "fur" was Indian Sheep. It isn't curly, but has been carded enough that it is fairly straight, but kinda frizzy looking. Half has been bleached white; half has been dyed bright red. All this has been made into a unique little patriotic purse. Yes, you saw right....we went in. I couldn't help myself. The little purses sell for $65.00 (without tax, of course). If you want one, the lady gave me her business card. I can give you the address. If you know Elton John, ask him to give me a call.
Wonderful Gifts:
- Flowers of all colors, smells, and varieties!
- laughter and love shared with good friends
- Dreams for a lifetime of tomorrows
-Thanksgiving that my dreams last night were only dreams!
